The Accounting Technician, AT(SA), Qualification is designed by SAICA. AT(SA) is registered with SAQA and all the qualifications meet both NQF and Learnership requirements. The qualification is consistent with the mission and interest of National Skills Development. It offers a diverse range of practical, accounting and finance qualifications as well as professional memberships aimed at finance and accounting staff from entry level to senior executive level.

The qualification is designed to take aspiring prospective accountants on a progressive pathway, from a foundational level through to an advanced level of accounting knowledge, skills,
and competencies. The modules within the qualifications can be packaged to meet an entrepreneurs’ skills development needs.

Employees that have some sort of an accounting qualification or completed related courses in the past may not require to go through all the modules. In such cases, a Test of Professional Competence will be performed through a deep stick assessment to determine the level of intervention required to attain the qualification or obtain membership to the professional body.

Unlike other rigid qualifications and professional memberships, AT(SA) offers flexible modes of learning and examination. The training combines accounting theory with real-world practical experience enabling you to practically apply newly acquired skills in your own work environment.
